South from the Cove

Picking up where the last set left off, this collection was made walking south from La Jolla Cove as the light shifted toward sunset and the coastline kept delivering new angles.

The terrain provides plenty of diversity along this stretch - grassy areas, rocky outcrops, and sandy beaches. In fact, the only thing that changes faster than the terrain is the light. As the sun drops, color saturation increases, shadows stretch, and rock formations (large and small) create opportunities for very different photographs just by changing your angle.

So if you’re out here in the evening, don’t settle into one spot too early. A short walk can give you a better angle, cleaner separation, or a totally different mood without much effort.
