The other side of San Francisco showed up in the details: light cutting between downtown buildings, rows of houses stacked impossibly on steep streets, and the bright lanterns strung through Chinatown. No matter where I wandered, the Bay Bridge seemed to follow me - framed between buildings, visible through the fog, or showing up at the edge of the skyline.
