The City of Roses
During my trip to Portland this week, I had just enough time for a couple of quick morning walks and one longer evening loop through the city. Each time I stepped out, Portland gave me something new… from an early-morning view of Mt. Hood out my hotel window, to quiet paths along the Willamette River with its bridges in every direction, to a climb up into Washington Park and the International Rose Test Garden. I wrapped up downtown with the classic “White Stag” sign before heading back to my hotel.
All told, I covered about 12 miles on foot, and couldn’t have asked for better weather during the hours I was able to get outside. Portland’s mix of riverside walks, hillside parks, and downtown landmarks made it easy to enjoy every step.
