Whiteout
You know how there are two kinds of “once in a lifetime” experiences? The kind you’re sure you’ll never get to experience again… and the kind you pretty much hope you’ll never experience again.
Today was the second one.
Much of the US woke up to some version of a winter whiteout today - and NYC decided to put on a full show… right when I happened to be in town.
I took the (very cold) opportunity to walk from Times Square to Bethesda Fountain and back, about four miles round trip on foot - the snow falling hard enough to soften the skyline and blur the edges of everything familiar, with just enough wind to sting any skin exposed to the elements.
The city was still moving, of course - plows pushing through Midtown, neon glowing through the storm, and Central Park bustling with people enjoying the snowfall.
