I’m a photographer focused on visual storytelling through performance and place. My work centers on live theatre and travel - environments where light, movement, and atmosphere shape the narrative in real time.
Scott Henderson Photography serves as the home for my theatre collaborations and travel work. These projects reflect a consistent approach to photography: observing moments as they unfold and creating images that feel grounded, intentional, and true to the story being told.
Approach
Theatre photography allows me to document storytelling as it happens. Performers, lighting, and staging create fleeting moments that cannot be recreated, and my goal is to preserve the intent of the production while producing imagery that feels immediate and authentic. I work closely with theatre programs and creative teams to create photographs that support promotion, documentation, and performer development while respecting the integrity of the performance itself.
Travel photography offers a different perspective on storytelling. Rather than focusing only on destination or location, I’m drawn to atmosphere, light, and the relationship between environment and human experience. These images are often quieter and observational, but they follow the same principles - clarity of composition, intentional framing, and attention to mood.
Across both areas, my work reflects a consistent visual language shaped by strong light, thoughtful composition, and a documentary mindset.
Collaboration & Background
Based in Loudoun County, Virginia, I collaborate with theatre programs, performers, and creative teams who value thoughtful visual storytelling. I’m especially interested in projects where photography supports narrative, strengthens visual identity, and captures the energy of live performance.
Professional Portrait Work
In addition to theatre and travel photography, I continue to work extensively in professional portraiture. Headshots and business-focused portrait sessions are offered through my dedicated brand, Headshot Loudoun, which focuses exclusively on client-driven professional imagery.
Separating these areas allows each body of work to live in a space designed specifically for its audience while maintaining a unified creative approach behind the scenes.
