Hickey | FAMILY

The weather was balmy, the bugs were swarmy, the lights were heavy, but the family was happy.

I've known Leigh Anne for a looooong time, and was quite excited when she asked if I was available for a family photo shoot that she was giving her mom as a Mother's Day gift.

We hit up a new spot in Leesburg, which turned out to be fabulous. The sun sets behind a wall of trees and golden fields. Birds are numerous (as are the bugs they feast on), and there was nobody else in sight.

We also went to downtown Leesburg, which is filled with 18/19th century architecture and the awesome "old town" that's hard to find.

Here are just a few of the photos from our afternoon. Hope you enjoy!

2010 Wrap-up

Wow. Just like that, 2010 is over. As I look back through this year's blog posts, I'm reminded of how big a year this was for me in every way imaginable.

I started photographing weddings (giving me the opportunity to work with some amazing photographers - Noah Hayes, Aimee Buxton, David Madison, Armin DeFiesta, Mario Brathwaite, and Hennessey Green), ramped up my portrait business, launched a new website, set up a new proofing studio, spent way too much on photo gear, and learned a thing or two (or more) along the way.

My wife and I also added one to our family, so we now have kids ages 4 yrs, 2 yrs, and 6 mos. We dug out of the biggest snowstorm of our lives early in the year, started new jobs, flew with our three kids to Idaho (where Renee learned how to waterski!), met some great new friends, and watched our kids learn to love and bless others.

I'd like to thank everyone who helped to make 2010 a banner year for my family and Scott Henderson Photography. It's my prayer that God blesses you as richly as He has blessed us.
